Giuliana Lucia Amaral is a rare talent. The 19-year-old Boston rocker, who is attending the Berklee College of Music on a scholarship, brings powerful and bluesy vocals, excellent musicianship and her own compositions to the stage.
Lead vocalist and multi-instrumentalist for the cover group BAND, Inc., Amaral will bring her high-energy vocals to the outdoor stage at MMAS on Saturday, July 17 at 7 p.m., as part of her acoustic duo with guitarist Damiano Christian.
Influenced by the music of Freddie Mercury and Queen, along with other legends, including Led Zeppelin and Fleetwood Mac, Amaral’s first instrument was piano, and she studied classical piano at the Rhode Island Philharmonic School of Music. She also plays guitar and bass.
The Wareham, Mass. native has come quite a distance in her young career, and Amaral was recognized as Best Young Artist by the New England Music Hall of Fame in 2021 and Best Female Vocalist of the Year by Limelight Magazine.
She has been playing before huge crowds throughout New England. Before the pandemic, she was a regular at The Middle East in Cambridge, where she also hosted open mic nights. In addition, she has performed in several other cities, including the iconic Bitter End, in New York.
Her band, BAND, Inc., recently opened for Grace Potter at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion and has also been invited to open there for Alice Cooper and Ace Frehley (KISS) on Sept. 18.
Giuliana and Damiano will perform originals and cover songs when they perform at MMAS.
All COVID guidelines will be followed for this seated show, NOT A DRIVE IN, so bring your chairs. This show will be held rain or shine. A large outdoor tent will be provided if it rains.
