Rehearsals will begin immediately after casting. This is not a professional production and there is no pay for actors.

Broadway Bound is the third entry in Neil Simon’s Eugene trilogy, following Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues. In 1949, Eugene and his brother Stanley are trying to break into radio as comedy writers. Still living at home in Brighton Beach, they are also dealing with their parents’ dysfunctional marriage. Eugene and Stanley get their first break with a sketch on the radio, but it upsets the family even more when they realize the characters are based on themselves and are exaggerated for laughs.

The cast includes 4 men and 2 women. Actors of all ages, ethnicities and genders are encouraged to audition. You must be willing to play the gender and age of the character as specified. All roles are open. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. Sides and monologues will be available after making an audition appointment. A resumé and headshot are not required but appreciated.

Please make an appointment to attend one of the audition dates on October 19 or October 20. Fill out the form at https://bit.ly/broadwayboundmac or mail your audition request to broadwayboundmac@gmail.com. Include a resume and headshot if you have them. We will send you sides prior to your audition. You will be asked to fill out a conflict sheet at the audition so please bring your schedule with you. This is important since the rehearsal schedule will be built around actor and director availability. Conflicts reported after casting may result in cast changes. All cast members must be available for all rehearsals scheduled from January 4, including all technical rehearsals. Cast members are expected to assist with strike after the closing performance on February 8.

If you cannot attend audition dates but are interested in auditioning, please contact us at broadwayboundmac@gmail.com and we will make accommodations to see you!
