About the Gallery

The Morini Gallery

The Morini Gallery is committed to supporting our local and regional artists. The gallery exists to exhibit artwork from the professional to emerging artists in Southeastern Massachusetts and beyond. We are a home for individual artists exploring diverse creative opportunities that challenge, educate, and inspire the artist as well as the visitors who come to experience our many exhibitions each year.

The Morini Gallery operates under the umbrella of The Mass Arts Center. Together, we provide multiple creative disciplines in our artistic community home through representational art, performance art, and musical and theatrical presentations.

The gallery curators create a full year of calls for our Artists Series including shows that include professionally juried community shows, solo, and collaborative exhibitions, as well as open show exhibits with full community involvement.

History:

In October of 2009, MMAS held an expansion campaign that provided a beautiful and much-needed gallery space. The Morini family supported the capital campaign through a naming opportunity. Until 1972, the present location of the gallery was the Morini Supermarket. Family members believed it was fitting that where once the community was nourished by food and other provisions, so the same location would now continue to nourish the community in a different way. Now, The Morini Gallery will provide expressions of art for purchase to feed our local creatives and be enjoyed by our beloved supporters of the arts.  To this day we continue that mission.
