Stand-up comedy returns to Mansfield as Boston Comedy Festival winner Liam McGurk headlines on Friday, August 22 indoors at the Mass Arts Center.

Boston Comedy Festival 2025 winner Liam McGurk is known for his laid-back demeanor and cerebral, creative material. He was recently selected for Tubi Tv’s No Filter All Funny and for the 10,000 Laughs Festival in Minneapolis. He has performed in Thunderfest and the Cape Fear Comedy Festival and Rogue Island Comedy Festival. He was voted Laugh Boston’s Funniest Comedian in Massachusetts 2019. He was also the Comic In Residence at The Comedy Studio in Somerville.

He’s joined by a showcase of other Boston talent. Dave Rattigan of Scamps Comedy hosts a very funny lineup of professional Boston stand-up comedians including Sam Pelletier, Ethan Cannon, Kaile Krenzer and Pete McLaughlin.

Rattigan recently returned from Ireland, where he performed on five shows, took the Jameson and Guinness tours, went to the Irish Emigration Museum, used his umbrella quite a bit, and drove on the wrong side of the road. You’ll hear about it. This was his second run of performances in Ireland, and he’s also appeared on stage in Japan, at Fenway Park, The Cape Cod Melody Tent, South Shore Music Circus, a lumberyard, the lobby of an ad agency, a library, and several parking lots.

“There’s nothing funny about the way he looks, until he gives that deadpan look of his,” popular blogger Ralph Fatello (RalphsPic.com) wrote. “His outward appearance is something out of a mature GQ magazine. He looks like a cross between a semi hip banker, and your mild-mannered father-in-law …. Dave is the master of completely dismantling himself in front of a crowd of strangers. I’m always torn as to whether I should console him, or just laugh my ass off like everyone else ….”
