This festive play follows the story of our leading man, who once overflowed with holiday cheer, but this year is feeling a bit dim. Alone in his apartment and ready to spend the night watching movies in solitude, he’s surprised by an unexpected knock at the door. What starts as a simple visit from a concerned friend turns into a spontaneous, side-splitting, joy-filled holiday party that reignites his spirit.

With surprise guests, raucous party games, and ongoing jokes about the ever-questionable “Cheese of the Month Club” gift, Merry Holly Very Jolly Happy Holiday Extravaganza is a riotous ride through friendship, community, and the kind of love you can’t wrap in a box.

Audiences will sing and sway along to the music that celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and the universal joy of coming together. It’s a musical comedy mash-up filled with dancing, laughter, and just the right amount of melted cheese.

At its heart, the play reminds us all that the holidays aren’t about the decorations or the perfect gift. They’re about connection, compassion, and showing up for one another when it matters most.

Don’t miss this joyous, genre-blending holiday event that promises to leave audiences laughing, singing, and full of the holiday spirit.

Come for the cheese, stay for the love.

Meg Dussault (Director/Writer) Though Meg knows she will never live out her dream of being Mrs. Claus, she feels like writing and directing this show and sharing it with all her friends and family is the next best thing.  As we celebrate the holiday of whichever tradition we belong to, may we all remember the words of Howard Thurman who tells us what the real work of the holidays are, “To find the lost, to heal the broken, to feed the hungry, to release the prisoner, to rebuild the nations, to bring peace among the people, to make music in the heart.”

Chandler Hayes -This is Chandler’s first show at Mass Arts Center and he is happy to be doing this with his dad.

Kevin Hayes is proud to work with Meg, Shannon and Sharon again. Kevin is back after a brief hiatus where he tried his hand at worm farming. Unfortunately, we live in New England and all the worms fried in the summer and froze in the winter, so he gave up and came back to theater.

Nathan Lamont is grateful to return for his fourth MAC production, last appearing as Ebenezer Scrooge in their 2024 A Christmas Carol with his wife and their two sons. Other recent roles include Oliver Warbucks in Needham Community Theatre’s Annie and Hercule Poirot in Milton Players’ Murder on the Orient Express, He is thrilled to be back on stage with his sons, and devotes his performance to his ever-resilient wife, Chrissy.

Oscar Lamont is thrilled to be back at MAC for his 4th show! Recent theater credits: George Reed (1776), Professor Callahan (Legally Blonde, Jr.), Young Scrooge/The Debtor (A Christmas Carol), Sound Operator (Bright Star), and The Stage Manager (Fairly Stupid Tales). He’d like to thank Meg for all her work, patience, and for including the Lamont boys in a second holiday show! He’s also grateful to this cast & crew, his family (especially co-stars Simon and Daddy Lamont), and his friends for all their support.”Enjoy the show and happy holidays!”

Simon Lamont is excited to be back at MAC for his 3rd show! Recent theater credits: Dewey (Legally Blonde, Jr.), Peter Cratchit / Delivery Boy (A Christmas Carol), Rick Donahue (The Show Must Go On), and Lieutenant Ward (Annie, Jr.). He would like to thank Meg for all her work and talents, this fun cast (especially his co-stars: bro Oscar and Daddy Lamont), and his family and friends! “Happy holidays everyone! Thank you for coming, and I hope you enjoy the show!”

Cate Lightbody is a recent graduate of Wright State University’s Musical Theatre program and she is excited to be in her first Mass Arts show in this beautiful space. Some of her recent credits include Alice by Heart (Alice), Cabaret (Rosie) and Something Rotten (Portia). She has had so much fun during this process, and wants to thank this amazing team for their hard work and enthusiasm.

Eric Lightbody is thrilled to be performing here at the Mass Arts Center with some wonderful old and new friends.  While this is his first performance in this space, he appeared previously in several shows at the previous Black Box including Harry in Company and Norbert in The Great American Trailer Park Musical.  Other favorite roles include Nathan Detroit in Guys & Dolls (RTW), Caldwell B. Cladwell in Urinetown (InCharge Productions), and Buddy in We Will Rock You! (Norwood Theatre). He would not be here at all without that first “push” from his wife Kristin and certainly would not have continued to grow as a person and performer without the inspiration of the “Lightbabies”, Cate & Abbi.  He would also like to thank Meg and Shannon for creating this show and bringing us all together to succeed and enjoy as well as Sharon, Richard, Bruce & Cate (yes, that Cate) for helping guide us through such a fun experience.

Amanda Malyar is happy to return to the Mass Arts Center after previously performing in Lifelines: A Concert Fundraiser, And The World Goes ‘Round and Godspell.  Favorite theater roles include Jill in A Nice Family Gathering, Sara Jane Moore in Assassins, and Maude/Victoria in Cloud 9. Amanda holds a degree in Musical Theater and Directing from the Boston Conservatory, but spends most of her time running the South Shore’s favorite hot dog truck, Flashback Franks! She dedicates this performance to her daughter, Romy, who’s celebrating her first Christmas this year.

Alexander Narcotta is excited to be back on the MAC stage, and especially thrilled to be working with Meg again! This marks his third production at MAC, having previously appeared in the ensemble of Evita and as George in Hair. Other favorite credits include: Malcolm/Third Witch (Macbeth) and Tybalt/Paris (Romeo and Juliet) with Bay Colony Shakespeare Company; and Stephano (The Tempest) and Friar Laurence (Romeo and Juliet) with Cape Cod Community College’s “Shakespeare Under the Stars” Series. Alex would like to thank his Mom for her constant encouragement, Meg for the opportunity to play in her worlds, and Shannon for the endless support with all things music.

Henry Norton is very excited to be in his first Mass Arts Center production! He has been performing with Drama Kids for 3 years and loves being on stage. Henry also enjoys art, karate and playing video games.

As always, Christian offers neverending thanks to his family for their love and support. This year will be better than the last.

Beckett Ruggles is excited to be welcomed back to the MAC stage, after a brief appearance as Jojo/kid in a small, but mighty, camp rendition of a Seussical review. No stranger to the stage, Beckett is often performing for the junior competition team at Reflections Dance Academy and with the YMCA Broad-Y theater group. Off-stage, Beckett is a seventh grader at the Ahern Middle School where she participates in the Ahern Broadcasting Club and No Place for Hate. She would like to thank Meg, Sharon, the staff of MAC, and cast and crew for being so nice and creating such a great environment to learn and come together. She would also like to thank her family for being supportive in all she does. Happy Holidays!

Steven Ruggles is ecstatic to be back on stage in his first production with MAC, far removed from his last theatrical appearance as Thomas Edison in his fifth-grade production of the Electric Sunshine Man. Steve is right at home on stage, however, often performing for Reflections Dance Academy as part of the adult tap group and the RDA Dance Dads. When not performing, Steve works for Boston Beer Company in operations and planning and shuttles his two children in dad life. Steve would like to thank his family, his incredible castmates and crew, director Meg, and the MAC family for welcoming him so warmly. Steve believes there is no greater feeling than putting on a show and is so grateful to be involved.

Sharon Silberman (Stage Manager) is excited to be working with this talented cast.   Sharon has worked as a stage manager since 2009 for different community theaters and with Mass Arts Center as stage manager and light board operator since 2015.  She would like to thank Meg for the opportunity to work on this fun, festive show! Wishing everyone happy holidays!

Bruce has received several DASH design awards for his work on MAC productions and is extremely proud to have been part of the creative team for Macbeth, which won this year’s DASH award for “Best Production, Play”. Sending out a massive, heartfelt thanks to my wife Paula for her encouragement and endless, ENDLESS patience
