Defying Gravity invites theatre enthusiasts ages 8-18 to join The Mass Arts Center Academy on a Wicked fun journey. The story of two vastly different schoolmates and their eccentric peers explores themes of good & evil, inner & outer beauty, and popularity & obscurity. Drawing from the Broadway phenomenon Wicked, participants will have a chance to improve their musical theatre skills while working on select scenes and songs from the iconic Broadway musical now fan favorite film. The Mass Arts Center provides a positive and supportive environment where participants act, sing, and dance their way toward a final showcase for family and friends. Defying Gravity will run 3 weeks, allowing students additional time to master their performative skills while taking on the challenge of some of musical theatre’s most ambitious material. Broadway Mash-up Summer Intensive

Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm

ONE WEEK ONLY

Come and join Lindsey for this one week summer intensive sure to delight our young musical theatre enthusiasts. Drawing from a variety of contemporary shows, Broadway Mash-up will give participants the opportunity to tell stories through song and dance, featuring Pop-Rock material from musicals such as & Juliet, Six, Mamma Mia, and others.

Students will perform for family and friends on Friday, August 1 at 2:00 pm. Tickets $8/seat for all ages (no fees). (A noon performance will be added, if needed.)
