Calling all storytellers, scene crafters, and world builders! Are you looking to develop your own play? Musical? Short film? Sketch? Perhaps you’re full of ideas and looking for a place to channel them! WELL, I’m very excited to introduce my class in the fall called “Playmaking 101”. This class is all about collaboration and exploration of new stories and new work! Together, we’ll break down the elements of our favourite stories – structure, archetypal characters (i.e. the clown, the king, the orphan), dynamics (climax, denouement), dream sequences, and much more. I’ll provide you with all the tools to develop and workshop your stories or create new ones alongside your classmates. At the end of this class we will have a showcase of what we’ve worked on: whatever that may be. What we do in this class is dependant on who signs up, and our end goal will be based off of what you, the participants, are looking for in order to grow as artists, writers, and original voices.
