Back again for more laughter and fun! Join us this summer to support The Mass Music & Arts Society. Scamps Comedy Productions & MMAS present the best of Boston comedians. Lawn seats and Car seats are available for this event. Reserve your tickets in advance.
The featured acts will be Corey Manning, Steve Donovan, Janet McNamara and Dave Rattigan.
Take a seat and put your drink where you’re less likely to knock it over, because as soon as Corey Manning descends on the stage, it’s on! If there is no energy in the room, he brings it. If there is energy in the room, Corey absorbs it and takes it to another level. Fresh off his performance in Tracy Morgan’s “Picking Up The Pieces Tour,” Corey was featured on Nick Jr.’s Mom Night Out Comedy Showcase, appeared on NBC’s Family Feud with Steve Harvey and Jamie Foxx’s “Laughapalooza’s New Faces In Comedy.” He is known for his slick, upbeat, funny, over-the-top comedy.
Steve Donovan can be heard weekday mornings on Lite Rock 105, and weekend nights cracking up audiences at top comedy clubs, restaurants and theaters around New England. The multi-talented Donovan has acted in the iconic play Shear Madness and several regional television commercials, and has been a host of shows such as NESN’s The Batter’s Box and WBZ’s Community Auditions. He released a standup DVD, One Night in Shirley. He also is proud to have been recognized by the Susan G. Komen Foundation for his ongoing fundraising efforts in the fight against breast cancer.
Janet McNamara is a Boston-based comic who’s regaled audiences all over New England with her authentic conversational style and awkwardly charming energy. Janet won the 2014 BeanTown Comedy Riots and has been featured at the Women in Comedy Festival, Ashville Comedy Festival and Burbank Comedy Festival, and she was a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival. You might recognize Janet as the ‘Golden Idol’ winner for the the worst audition of American Idol season 10, an appearance that introduced a national audience to her joie de vivre and infectious energy. Janet doesn’t speak French.
Dave Rattigan returns as host. He has performed at Fenway Park, The Cape Cod Melody Tent, South Shore Music Circus, a lumberyard, the lobby of an ad agency, a library, and several parking lots, including one at the Norton Reservoir <grin>. His CD has been played on Sirius Satellite Radio, and he’s performed on the syndicated Steve Katsos Show. He’s done commercials for Olympia Sports and iParty, and performed in Dublin and Kilkenny, Ireland. He also runs Scamps Comedy Productions, which produces live comedy shows, including the ones at MMAS.
