One man. 25 characters. An amazing performance. You won’t believe your eyes and ears!

This is the 21st anniversary of Gary Poholek’s one-man show, a take on the classic Dickens holiday novel. The Spirits of Christmas Past, Present & Future come to life in this one-man presentation of Dickens’ classic!

The setting is simple – an antique desk, fireplace, chair, stool, and coat-rack. The audience’s imagination takes over as Mr. Poholek, dressed in Victorian attire and adopting a variety of voices, expressions and mannerisms, portrays Mr. Dickens and all 25 of his characters, bringing the classic story to life in this fully staged and very unique adaptation of Dickens’ original manuscript.

Alternating between humor and poignancy, this heartwarming presentation has become an MMAS tradition. A Boston Conservatory graduate, Poholek has been performing his own adaptation of A Christmas Carol for twenty years at a variety of venues throughout New England, including the historic Columbus Theatre, the Ames Mansion at Borderland State Park and, of course MMAS, where it originated twenty years ago.
