Carolyn Plummer Comedy – July 28

Comedian Carolyn Plummer headlines the Thursday, July 28 outdoor stand-up comedy at the Mass Arts Center.
Presented by Scamps Comedy and the Mass Arts Center, the shows will be outdoors in the tent if weather permits, or may be moved indoors in case of inclement weather (or extreme heat). Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
Headliner Carolyn Plummer, selected to perform at Denis Leary’s prestigious Comics Come Home stand-up concert for 2022, has been a Boston comedy mainstay for several years. During her career, Carolyn has traveled extensively and to many parts of this country few have dared to venture. She has worked at clubs, colleges, dead animal lodges, theaters and corporations, appearing with many of the top headliners in the business. She has also participated in numerous festivals including the Hampton Beach Comedy Festival, Burbank Comedy Festival, Boston Comedy Festival and The Women in Comedy Festival. “I also won the Woody Herman Jazz Award for my trumpet playing abilities but I’m not one to brag,” she says.
Dave Lamb has been performing stand-up comedy in and around Boston for almost 10 years. In that time, Dave has performed all over New England with some of the area’s best and up-and-coming acts. During his time in comedy Dave has performed in clubs, bars, casinos, restaurants, and rec centers, but can most often be seen headlining a classroom every weekday at an area public school, where he learned how to deal with hecklers. Dave’s full-time career as a teacher provides him with an excellent source of material, as if his wife, family, and friends aren’t enough already.
Ryan Shea is a Boston based comic that has been a regular in the Boston clubs for the past 11 years. He performs all over the east coast, and is a former comic in residence at the reputable Comedy Studio in Cambridge. In 2016 he was asked to perform for the troops and asked back in 2017. Shea is honest, outspoken, and introspective. He brings high energy and points of view for everyone to enjoy.
A frequent host for comedy at the Mass Arts Center, Dave Rattigan performs in top comedy venues and co-hosts two funny and provocative podcasts: the crime ‘n grime Inside the Line: Real Stories by Real Cops and the soccer-themed Soccerheads New England. He’s performed with The Beach Boys, Bill Burr, Jeff Dunham and Nick DiPaolo, and created the themed stand-up comedy show “How Men Think (Or Do They).” His CD, Dave Rattigan: Thinks He’s Funny, received airplay on Sirius Satellite Radio and on stations around the world. He’s appeared in television commercials and independent film projects; written funny columns for the Boston Globe, Christian Science Monitor and others; and his video clips have run on Nickmom.com and Rooftop Comedy. He’s a regular at the Hampton Beach Comedy Festival and has appeared at the Boston Comedy Festival, Women in Comedy Festival, and Salem Comedy & Spirits Festival.
The show is presented by the Mass Arts Center with Scamp Comedy Productions. Tickets are $20.
